Overview
Trekker helps hikers and outdoor travellers plan routes, pack for them, and share their plans with someone at home. The best trails are often where the signal is weakest, so an app that needed a connection failed exactly when it mattered.
Trekker needed an app that does its work before the trip and keeps working without a signal once it starts.
What we did:
Designed the app around planning first and navigating offline.
Built route planning with maps saved to the phone.
Added packing lists built from the route and the weather.
Built trip sharing so someone at home knows the plan.

We designed every screen for the moment the connection drops. Anything a hiker needs on the trail is saved before they set off, and the app tells them clearly what is ready to use offline.

Route planning
Plan At Home, Follow It Offline.
Hikers plan a route on the map, see its distance and elevation, and save the area to their phone. On the trail, the route and their position work without a connection.
What We Did
- Built route planning with distance and elevation.

Packing and sharing
Ready Before The Trip, Known At Home.
The app builds a packing list from the route and the forecast, and shares the plan with a contact at home, with the time the hiker expects to be back.
What We Did
- Generated packing lists from the route and the weather.
- Shared trip plans and expected return times with a contact.
- Sent a check-in reminder when the hiker is due back.
